I am proud to be an active Associate with Through Each Others Eyes (TEOE), a non-profit organization based in Phoenix that helps people around the world understand and appreciate different cultures from their own through the art of photography. TEOE develops exchanges with photographers in other countries for the purpose of photographically documenting a culture and exhibiting the results in the participating countries. The galleries below show the 20 prints I selected for each of the exhibitions I in which I have had the honor in participating.
TEOE encourages knowledge and understanding of people from around the world through educational outreach programs with the public and local schools. For more information, please visit the TEOE website at http://teoe.org.

20 imagesThe first Through Each Others Eyes(TM) photo exchange between photographers in Arizona and Alberta, Canada, opened on October 30, 2012, at Art Intersection Gallery, 207 N. Gilbert Road, Suite 201, in Gilbert. Through Each Others Eyes(TM) photographer Colleen Miniuk-Sperry began working to bring about the exchange three years ago, exploring possibilities with friends and photographers in Calgary, Alberta--one of Phoenix' 10 sister cities. In January TEOE invited Peter Carroll of Sherwood Park, a professional photographer specializing in stock, landscape, and portrait photography, and Royce Howland, a landscape and nature photographer based in Calgary, to shoot in Arizona for this first exchange. Traveling to Canada for the exchange were Colleen, who supports a wide range of assignments for editorial, fine art, and stock clients, and Ken Ross, an independent commercial photographer who specializes in travel/location, people, and corporate photography. Royce and Peter traveled to Arizona in June where they photographed life and festivals in Phoenix as well as landscapes at the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. Ken and Colleen opened their homes to Royce and Peter and guided them around the state, providing special access to the photo locations. In July, Ken and Colleen traveled to Calgary where they photographed the world-famous Calgary Stampede, attended festivals in culturally-diverse Calgary, and photographed the scenic Alberta landscapes. Peter and Royce kept them in their homes, and provided transportation for the Canadian photographic road-trip. The exhibit contained 20 images from each photographer, varying in sizes from 16 x 20-inches to 20 x 24-inches. Below are the 20 prints Colleen contributed to the exhibition. Canada marks the 10th country explored by Through Each Others Eyes(TM) photographers since the organization began nearly 25 years ago. Since 1988, 137 photographers have participated in Through Each Others Eyes(TM) photo exchanges, producing exhibitions that have been viewed by more than two million people. In addition, the photographers of Through Each Others Eyes(TM) participate in social and educational projects around the globe. To learn more, visit the website at www.teoe.org.
